Can I become a member of Creative Calderdale?
Membership of Creative Calderdale is absolutely free – but the benefits are priceless!
To become a member of Creative Calderdale, applicants must meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Be an employee of a ‘Creative’ business registered to an address within the Calderdale MBC area.
- Own or run a ‘Creative’ business registered to an address within the Calderdale MBC area.
- Be a freelance professional from within the creative industries sector living at an address within the Calderdale MBC area.
The creative industries sector is defined by the Government Department for Culture, Media and Sport as follows:
"those industries which have their origin in individual creativity, skill and talent and which have a potential for wealth and job creation through the generation and exploitation of intellectual property.”
(DCMS 2001, p. 04)"
For the purpose of Creative Calderdale, we recognise the following sectors of creative industries currently operating here in Calderdale:
- Architecture and Environment
- Digital Services
- Education and Training (Creative Sector)
- Event Management
- Fashion
- Film, TV and Radio
- Heritage
- Innovation
- Marketing
- Photography
- Publishing
- The Arts
